North Liberty
One of Iowa's fastest-growing cities, between Cedar Rapids and Iowa City, with newer neighborhoods and more than 25 miles of trails.
Typical times without traffic, from OpenStreetMap routing. Rush hour runs longer.
Between two cities, still growing.
North Liberty was settled in 1838, platted in 1857 and incorporated in 1913. It grew by more than half between 2010 and 2020.
Building continues, including Solomon's Landing, an 80-acre district with single-family homes, apartments and senior villas. North Liberty is in Johnson County, not Linn, so county taxes and services differ from the rest of the areas I cover.
A 40-acre park with ball fields, tennis and pickleball, a splash pad, trails and garden plots.
Home to the Hy-Vee Center & Amphitheater, which hosts public events.
The city's original trail, part of a system of more than 25 miles.
An annual July festival of live music and barbecue.
North Liberty is split between the Iowa City Community and Clear Creek Amana school districts, generally along Jones Boulevard: Iowa City to the east, Clear Creek Amana to the west. The 2026-27 tax rates differ slightly too, about $36.61 vs $36.82 per $1,000.
The district follows the parcel, so I confirm it for every home we look at.
